On the occasion of World Mathematics Day 2024 (IDM 3.14), held under the theme "Let's Play with Mathematics", the students of Al Awael High School took part in a UNESCO twinning program with a girls' high school in Libya — El Minchia Sabha, Tripoli.
The program was officially launched with an opening speech by the UNESCO representative, marking the start of a month of meaningful and inspiring exchanges between the two schools.
§ 01A Month of Exchange
During this period, students shared introductory videos about their schools, discussed the role of mathematics in their curricula, and discovered different educational perspectives across the two countries.
An interactive webinar brought the students together to introduce their institutions, exchange their views on mathematical games, and discuss the strengths, weaknesses, and challenges of learning mathematics — with a special focus on how games can enhance mathematical learning.

§ 02Games, the Universal Tongue
The participants later engaged in fun mathematical games, such as the Nim Game and the XO Game, and eventually shared videos and math games they had designed themselves. This exchange strengthened intercultural collaboration and encouraged creativity and logical thinking through the universal language of mathematics.
À l'occasion de la Journée mondiale des mathématiques 2024 (IDM 3.14), placée sous le thème « Jouons avec les mathématiques », les élèves du lycée Al Awael ont participé à un programme de jumelage UNESCO avec un lycée de filles en Libye — El Minchia Sabha, Tripoli.
Le programme a été officiellement lancé par un discours d'ouverture du représentant de l'UNESCO, marquant le début d'un mois d'échanges riches et inspirants entre les deux établissements.
§ 01Un Mois d'Échanges
Pendant cette période, les élèves ont partagé des vidéos de présentation de leurs écoles, discuté du rôle des mathématiques dans leurs programmes et découvert différentes perspectives éducatives.
Un webinaire interactif a réuni les élèves pour présenter leurs établissements, échanger sur les jeux mathématiques, et discuter des forces, faiblesses et défis de l'apprentissage — avec une attention particulière sur la manière dont les jeux peuvent enrichir cet apprentissage.

§ 02Les Jeux, Langue Universelle
Les participants se sont ensuite engagés dans des jeux mathématiques amusants — le jeu de Nim, le jeu XO — puis ont partagé des vidéos et des jeux mathématiques qu'ils avaient eux-mêmes conçus. Cet échange a renforcé la collaboration interculturelle et encouragé la créativité et la pensée logique à travers la langue universelle des mathématiques.
بمناسبة اليوم العالمي للرياضيات ٢٠٢٤ (IDM 3.14)، الذي حمل شعار «لنلعب مع الرياضيات»، شارك طلاب ثانوية «الأوائل» في برنامج جمعةٍ تابع لليونسكو مع ثانوية بناتٍ في ليبيا — المنشية سبها، طرابلس.
انطلق البرنامج رسميّاً بكلمة افتتاحية من ممثّل اليونسكو، إيذاناً ببدء شهرٍ من التبادلات الغنية الملهمة بين المدرستين.
§ ٠١شهرٌ من التبادل
خلال هذه الفترة، تبادل الطلاب مقاطع تعريفية بمدارسهم، وناقشوا دور الرياضيات في مناهجهم، واكتشفوا منظوراتٍ تعليميةً مختلفة بين البلدين.
وجمعت ندوةٌ تفاعليةٌ الطلابَ ليُعرّفوا بمؤسّساتهم ويتبادلوا الآراء في الألعاب الرياضية، ويناقشوا نقاط القوّة والضعف والتحدّيات في تعلّم الرياضيات — مع تركيزٍ خاصّ على كيف يمكن للّعب أن يُغنيَ هذا التعلّم.

§ ٠٢الألعاب، لغةٌ كونية
وانخرط المشاركون بعد ذلك في ألعابٍ رياضيةٍ ممتعة، كـلعبة نيم ولعبة XO، ثم تبادلوا مقاطع وألعاباً صمّموها بأنفسهم. وعزّز هذا التبادل التعاونَ بين الثقافات وشجّع الإبداع والتفكير المنطقي عبر اللغة الكونية للرياضيات.
